Books

Besides the websites you can find on 3-5-7.nl I have another few (older). It was mainly about the website about Franz Farwerck that I was sometimes asked why I didn’t publish a book. Well, a website is easier to update. Besides, too many open questions remain. After a while I became curious about the options for self-publishing. I had two demands. If I was going to publish books, it would have to be printing on demand and I would have to be able to publish both physical and digital versions.

I found Amazon KDP, Kindle Desktop Publishing, which, other than the name suggests, is not just for Kindle ebooks. I experimented a little with information of the Farwerck website. The proces was somewhat frustrating, but after a while I had made a little book. The website is in English, because I don’t want to limit the audience to those who can read the works of Farwerck anyway, I figured that as a book, there would probably a bigger audience for a Dutch booklet. So I translated the booklet and published both an English and a Dutch edition.

Getting the hang of it, I started making books of other websites of mine. Because it is printing on demand, it costs me nothing but time, there would be no books gathering dust and perhaps books would reach another audience than websites. In a matter of weeks I had six little books available, five paperbacks and one hardcover and all books also as Kindle ebook (so I made 12 books).

Later I made two new websites, which both are also available as books by now and in January 2025 I even made a book first and a website only later (The Masonic Museum).

All books, but two, are in English. Best order them at you ‘local’ Amazon, so that they are produced as close to you as possible. This saves time and transport.
